Welcome to the Salutary Place!

About me

Welcome to my nook of the internet! My name is Aileen, but you can call me Rae. I am a 70s baby, had my formative years in the 80s, my children in the 90s and have reinvented myself a couple of times in the 2000s.

Growing up very active and then having that activity slow down to almost nothing when I got my first grown-up job was the first step that I didn’t realize was on the wrong path. The 2nd step on that path was juggling the grown-up job and being a mother. As much as you would like to cook and eat healthy, time constraints and circumstances can say different. The 3rd step was the growing independent nature of my children where I didn’t have to run around like a chicken with my head cut off cleaning up messes, snatching wayward explorers off of stairs or from precarious positions, or breaking up sibling disagreements that had escalated to screaming matches (well, sometimes I still do that but over the family chat). I didn’t see my weight gain as being anything but a natural part of motherhood instead of the warning flag that it should have been.

The Salutary Place

Where nourishment meets real life—and healing feels like coming home.

I believe every woman deserves to feel nourished, powerful, and fully at home in her body—without restriction, confusion, or shame.

From the mind of an experience-driven creative spirit with a mission to help black women over 30 reclaim their energy, confidence, and rhythm through practical, personalized nutrition.

Wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all and it definitely isn’t supposed to feel like punishment.

The Salutary Place is where nourishment is about more than what’s on your plate. It’s about how you live, how you feel, and how you treat yourself in the process.

Who I Work With

I help women who are tired of extremes and ready for a real, sustainable relationship with food. My clients want more than a meal plan—they want clarity, energy, and freedom from the cycle of guilt and guessing.

Together, we use holistic tools to:

  • Improve digestion, energy, and hormonal balance

  • Build personalized meal strategies (not restrictions!)

  • Reset cravings and reduce overwhelm

  • Align food choices with real-life schedules and real-body needs

I’m not here to preach perfection. I’m here to guide progress with kindness, strategy, and a sense of humor.

Why I'm Doing This

Over the years, I have been an on again off again dieter which kept me on the roller coaster of excitement and disappointment. Instead of following the trends, challenges, and sometimes dangerous fads, I decided to go back to school and learn more about a healthier way to live. I want to take what I’ve learned and help you make healthier changes in your relationship with food.

What do you do if you stumble? Sh*t happens. Instead of beating yourself up about it or having me scowl and lecture, how about we look back on the whole picture? How can we take this setback – because it’s not the end of the world – flip it into a teachable moment, and set up some alternative ways that will help you be successful on your journey.

Your wellness journey doesn’t have to feel like a second job. It can be joyful, empowering, and deeply aligned with who you are.

Whether you're ready to dive into a full body reset or just want a simple place to start—I'm here for it. And I'm here for you.

FAQs – The Salutary Place

I’m new to holistic nutrition. Will your products be too advanced for me?

Not at all! Everything I create is beginner-friendly and designed to meet you where you are. You’ll find clear guidance, real-life examples, and simple steps that help you take action without overwhelm.

Do I need to be gluten-free or follow a special diet to use your programs?

Nope! While some of my content leans gluten-free and anti-inflammatory (because that’s what works for many of my clients), everything is flexible. You’ll learn how to tune in to your body and make choices that work for your needs.

I’ve tried elimination diets before and felt lost. How is yours different?

My approach is structured, but empowering. You won’t be guessing what to eat or how to track symptoms. I guide you step-by-step, with checklists, journaling prompts, and reintroduction support so you can actually learn from your body, not restrict it.

What’s the best way to get started?

Download my free guide, “3 Simple Shifts to Reclaim Your Energy”—it’s the perfect no-stress first step. Then schedule a free introductory call or check out my YouTube channel.

Do you offer 1:1 consultations?

Yes! You start off with scheduling a free introductory call so I can find out how I can help you. After that, you can schedule your consulting sessions.

Can I use your resources if I live outside the U.S.?

Absolutely. While some ingredient suggestions are U.S.-based, the strategies and resources are universal. Plus, I focus on using whole, accessible foods that you can adapt anywhere.
